It was supposed to be a regular game like any other, but it would go on to have consequences that would affect her for years to come.
While that certainly sounds dramatic, the truth is that this patient had been hit in the mouth by a soccer ball in her youth. It didn’t seem like a big deal at the time, but the nerve in one of her front teeth died. Even after having it treated, it became noticeably discolored.
She of course wanted to fix it, but it was important to her that it was done conservatively. Despite being very clear about this when she consulted with numerous dentists, they all kept suggesting a veneer or crown that would involve altering the tooth’s structure, which she didn’t want.
She eventually found Dr. Mohr and saw that he offered a procedure called internal whitening. After meeting him, she felt he was the right dentist to treat her because he actually listened to her concerns and took her preferences seriously.
When Dr. Mohr explained the benefits of internal whitening, it was clear it was the treatment she had been looking for. Importantly, he did say that the results can vary, and he would discuss other options if needed upon completion.
